Nicky's Courageous Story
EVERY 3 MINUTES, A PERSON GLOBALLY IS DIAGNOSED WITH BLOOD CANCER.
Nicky had been chronically ill and misdiagnosed for five years prior to her Cancer Diagnosis. In 2015, while having an unrelated surgery to fix what they had thought was the problem, the surgeons discovered a grapefruit sized mass on her intestines. Mid surgery, they made a swift change of plan and decided it was crucial to remove this mass.
Post op, Nicky was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Afraid, anxious, and overwhelmed, but still with an enormous drive to live, she became her own advocate. 5 weeks post diagnosis, Nicky began her courageous fight with chemotherapy and immunotherapy. She found true comfort in speaking to other cancer patients and survivors that she found in her community and all over the world (through Instagram)! Their stories and bravery encouraged her to fight!
She was introduced to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and learned about their extensive funded research. She immediately knew in her heart she wanted to be involved with this incredible organization forever.
Nicky is currently in remission and acts as a patient supporter for those who are battling cancer. She strives to pay it forward by offering support and encouragement to those diagnosed and in treatment, and by speaking at forums that support research and patient advocacy. She is also an active member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society via their New York Chapter. Because of this, we donate a portion of all sales to this worthy cause to support their research efforts, grants, and patient programs.
